On-premises Asterisk based phone systems
i-Possible is able to provide on-premises servers that offer enterprise level telephone systems running the widely supported Asterisk telephony software.
Using such a system, each staff member is able to have their own extension and direct phone number (if required) and is able to place free calls to any other extension on the system (even external VOIP extensions) as well as transfer, hold and conference calls.
The following are amongst the many type of extensions that can be connected to your server;
- Existing standard telephone handsets
- Business grade VOIP phones and handsets over the local network, multiple premises or over the Internet
- VOIP softphones running on desktop PCs
- VOIP software running on mobile phones and PDAs
For example, a staff member using a suitable mobile phone (such as the Nokia N95) is able to make and transfer phone calls to a staff member working at home using a business phone connected via the Internet.
Incoming calls can be directed to an individual extension, ring a group of phones, ring a series of phones (including mobiles) to hunt for a user, placed in a queue, passed to a menu system or handled in any other way imaginable.
An on premises server is able to connect to existing analogue or ISDN lines to transform a single or multiple incoming lines into a business grade telephone system. In addition, outgoing calls can by routed via i-Possible’s or other VOIP networks to free-up incoming lines and to allow un-timed national calls, at flag-fall rates much lower than a standard local call (typically 10-15 cents).
The system can also be controlled by PC based operator panels to transfer and monitor calls.
